Galala University Hosts the Third Scientific Conference on Tourism and Antiquities Development

Galala University proudly organized and hosted the Third Scientific Conference titled “Tourism & Antiquities: Development Challenges in Light of Global Changes After Recovery,” in collaboration with Mansoura University. The event was held under the auspices of H.E. Prof. Dr. Khaled Abd El Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, Acting President of Galala University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Abdel Basset, President of Mansoura University, Prof. Dr. Tarek Abou El Maaty, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs at Galala University, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Tarek Hafez, Vice President of Mansoura University for Graduate Studies and Research.

The conference provided a vital platform for discussing the challenges facing the tourism and antiquities sectors in the post-COVID-19 era and exploring ways to enhance sustainable development in these industries amid global change. Experts and academics shared their insights on strategies for revitalizing tourism, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering innovation-driven growth.

Galala University was selected to host the conference due to its strategic location on the Red Sea, making it an ideal setting to highlight the university’s potential in supporting tourism development—particularly in areas such as beach, medical, and yacht tourism.

This event reflects GU’s ongoing commitment to fostering academic collaboration and contributing to Egypt’s sustainable development goals through research, innovation, and practical engagement.
