Galala University Hosts “Space Day” Workshop in Collaboration with Egyptian Space Agency

At Galala University, students are encouraged to explore the frontiers of science, and a recent “Space Day” workshop exemplified this mission. Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, Acting President of GU, welcomed a delegation from the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), who partnered with the university to deliver a series of educational seminars on space science.

The workshop included three specialized seminars covering key topics:

  • The Impacts of Space Environment on Satellites – exploring how cosmic conditions affect satellite operations and longevity.

  • Satellite Systems and Applications – providing an overview of satellite technologies and their practical uses in communication, navigation, and Earth observation.

  • Egyptian Universities Training Satellite Project (EUTS) – introducing students to a pioneering initiative that offers summer internships and hands-on experience in satellite design, development, and deployment.

By engaging with these seminars, GU students gained firsthand insights into the challenges and innovations in space science, understanding how theoretical knowledge translates into real-world applications in satellite technology and aerospace engineering.

This collaboration reinforces Galala University’s commitment to experiential learning, STEM education, and fostering scientific curiosity, preparing students to contribute to Egypt’s growing presence in space research and technology.
