Galala University Scholarships and Financial Aids

The Below Scholarships are Offered to Students with Strong Academic Qualifications:

  1. New Entrants’ scholarships during their first year:
  • A full scholarship is granted to the top 300 students holding Egyptian Thanaweya Amma with its different branches
  • Science section: The student who achieves above 92% will receive a 50% scholarship
  • Maths section: The student who achieves above 90% will receive a 50% scholarship.
  • Arts section: The student who achieves above 85% will receive a 50% scholarship.

 

  1. Scholarships for Enrolled Students:

The university offers scholarships to the top students, according to the internal regulations of the university

 

  1. Athletic scholarships:
  • The student who wins a medal in international competitions gets a scholarship according to the following: Gold (100%), silver (50%), bronze (25%).
  • The student who wins a medal in the Arab and African competitions gets a discount according to the following: a gold medal (50%), a silver (25%), a bronze (10%)

GU-ASU Dual Degree programs scholarships:

Galala University is offering the following Scholarship to the Dual Degree Egyptian students joining the academic year 2025-2026:

 

A full scholarship for academic year 2025-2026 is granted to the 300 top students of the Egyptian Thanaweya Amma graduating in 2025.

35% scholarship for academic year 2025-2026 to students of Thanaweya Amma or equivalent degree who:

  1. score 90% or above in the Science section
  2. score 88% or above in the mathematics section
  3. score 82% or above in the arts section

25% scholarship for academic year 2025-2026 to students of Thanaweya Amma or equivalent degree who:

  1. score 87% or above in the Science section
  2. score 85% or above in the mathematics section
  3. score 80% or above in the arts section

20% scholarship for the duration of study to the first 100 applicants

10% scholarship for the duration of study to the second 100 applicants

GU Financial Aid 

Galala University is dedicated to supporting its students by offering financial aid and scholarships to help offset the costs of tuition, living expenses, and other academic-related fees. Our financial support programs are divided into Need-Based Financial Aid and Merit-Based Scholarships.

1. Need-Based Financial Aid

Need-based financial aid is available for students who face financial challenges during their academic journey. Grants may cover 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of tuition fees (excluding administrative or other service fees). Each application is individually assessed based on documented financial need.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0, or 60% for students in the Faculty of Medicine.

  2. Financial need must be demonstrated through appropriate documentation.

  3. Aid is only considered in specific social or financial cases, including:

    1. Divorce

    2. Illness or disability

    3. Death of the family’s primary breadwinner (in which case, a 10% tuition discount is granted in the following semester).

  4. Students must apply within the specified application period.

  5. First-year students are not eligible, unless a major social event occurs during their first year.

Application Timeline

  1. Application opens: September 1st 

  2. Application deadline: September 15th
    Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

How to Apply

  1. Understand the Requirements: Read the eligibility criteria carefully.
  2. Prepare Documentation: Collect all necessary supporting documents.
  3. Submit Your Application: Complete and submit the online form by the deadline.

Required Documents

  1. National ID copies of the student and parent(s)/guardian(s)

  2. Proof of family income (salary slips, tax forms, etc.)

  3. Recent social insurance statement proving unemployment status (if applicable). Note: A copy of a national ID is not accepted as proof of unemployment.

  4. Recent utility bills (electricity, water, gas)

  5. Bank statements from the last three months (if applicable)

  6. Proof of tuition fees and educational expenses

Additional Documents (if applicable):
  1. Medical reports or documents for special circumstances

  2. Divorce certificate

  3. Death certificate

Important Notes

  1. Financial aid is granted for one academic year only, and students must reapply annually.

  2. Awarded students will be required to sign a financial aid contract outlining the terms and conditions.

  3. Applications submitted outside the announced period will not be accepted or processed.

2. Merit-Based Scholarships

Galala University recognizes academic excellence through merit-based scholarships awarded based on students’ academic performance or cumulative GPA.

For All Majors

  1. GPA 3.6 – 3.79: 25% tuition discount

  2. GPA 3.8 – 3.99: 50% tuition discount

  3. GPA 4.0: 100% tuition discount

For the Faculty of Medicine (based on high school academic scores)

  1. 90% – 94.9%: 25% tuition discount

  2. 95% – 97.9%: 50% tuition discount

  3. 98% and above: 100% tuition discount

Sawiris Distinction Scholarship for Public High School Graduates and Students with Disabilities

Galala University, in partnership with Sawiris Foundation, offers scholarships for Egyptian high school students with disabilities and outstanding Egyptian students to obtain their undergraduate degree. The scholarships cover tuition fees, textbooks or laboratory supplies, and a laptop, accommodation for expatriates at the university dorms, a living allowance, and training courses for students during the academic years.

Gifted Student Scholarships (GSS) Program offered by Innovators Support Fund

The Innovators Support Fund offers several scholarships to Egyptian students from all governorates who passed Thanaweya Amma or its equivalent certificates, and who achieved outstanding academic results in the fields of basic sciences and technology, to obtain fully funded scholarships for four or five years. The scholarships program covers the following:

Field of Basic Sciences: Molecular Biotechnology Program, Nano Science and Technology Program.

Field of Computer Engineering: Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering Programs.

Field of Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence Program, Biomedical Informatics, and Computer Science Program.

Field of Engineering: Mechatronics and industrial automation program.

Vodafone Egypt and Sawiris Foundation are now accepting applications for the Vodafone-Sawiris Technology Scholarship (Tech-Start), managed by Aspire

Vodafone Egypt Foundation and Sawiris Foundation are pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Vodafone-Sawiris Tech-Start Scholarship Program, managed by Aspire.

This fully funded scholarship targets outstanding students from Egyptian public high schools who demonstrate a strong interest in the following fields:

  1.  Artificial Intelligence
  2.  Cybersecurity
  3.  Software Engineering
  4.  Robotics and Mechatronics
The scholarship provides selected students with:
  1. Full coverage of tuition fees and on-campus accommodation
  2. A personal laptop and free internet access provided by Vodafone Egypt
  3. Summer internship opportunities at Vodafone Egypt
  4. Career mentoring and professional development sessions
  5. Soft skills and capacity-building training

 Eligibility: Egyptian public high school students graduating in 2025.

Tuition fee discounts

  1. Applicants whose parents are martyrs from the armed forces, the police – the martyrs of the White Army, and the medical staff. are granted a 50% discount.
  2. Second-degree relatives (siblings) are granted a 10% discount for the student who enrolls, and his/her sibling is still a student at the university.
  3. Applicants whose parents are faculty members and full-time university employees are offered a 20% discount.
The scholarship provides selected students with:
