Architecture Students Explore “Plexiglass Sketching” in a Two-Day Workshop at Galala University
Galala University’s Faculty of Architecture recently hosted a two-day practical workshop titled “Plexiglass Sketching”, organized by Dr. Maged Zagow, Professor of Architecture at GU.
The workshop was held as part of the “Architectural Drawing” course for students from both the Architecture and Interior Architecture academic programs. It aimed to enhance students’ technical drawing skills, creative visualization, and understanding of materials used in architectural design.
Through this hands-on experience, students explored innovative techniques in sketching and design representation using plexiglass — a modern medium that bridges artistic expression with architectural precision. The activity also encouraged collaboration, experimentation, and the integration of artistic creativity with technical knowledge, which are essential skills in the architectural profession.
Such workshops are part of GU’s commitment to providing a dynamic and experiential learning environment, preparing students to excel in design thinking, sustainable innovation, and real-world architectural practices.
