Galala University Organizes the First Nanoscience Day to Highlight the Future of Advanced Materials

The Nanoscience and Technology Program at Galala University (GU), headed by Dr. Radwa Abou Saleh, organized “The First Nanoscience Day”, an educational and awareness event designed to highlight the growing importance of nanotechnology in shaping the future of science, industry, and innovation.

The event aimed to introduce students to the multidisciplinary nature of nanoscience, emphasizing how this rapidly advancing field stands at the heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants gained valuable insights into how studying nanoscience can open doors to cutting-edge research and promising career opportunities across diverse sectors including medicine, energy, computing, and aerospace.

The day featured a series of informative sessions and discussions led by faculty members and researchers, exploring the remarkable properties of ‘wonder materials’ such as graphene — a material 200 times stronger than steel, yet only one atom thick. Presentations demonstrated how such nanomaterials are expected to revolutionize key industries, drive technological innovation, and support sustainable solutions to global challenges.

Through initiatives like Nanoscience Day, Galala University continues to empower students with the knowledge, research skills, and innovative mindset needed to excel in emerging scientific domains, supporting Egypt’s vision for technological advancement and sustainable development.
