Curiosity, creativity, and bright young minds came together at Galala University as we proudly wrapped up the Children’s University 2024–2025 Program. This unique initiative gave children the chance to explore the world of science, medicine, arts, and technology — all while having fun, making friends, and discovering their passions.
The closing ceremony, held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University; Prof. Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology; and Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanien, Vice President of Galala University, was a celebration of talent, growth, and possibility. Families, faculty members, and university leaders all came together to applaud the children’s achievements and the incredible journey they experienced throughout the program.
Over the course of the program, children stepped into the shoes of doctors, engineers, artists, scientists, and even media producers. With hands-on activities led by faculty from across GU’s faculties — including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Media Production, Arts and Design, and more — every session was designed to spark curiosity and encourage exploration.
Behind the scenes, the program was guided by the dedicated leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mariam Hassan Haikal, GU’s Children’s University Program Coordinator. Her passion and vision brought the initiative to life, supported by the collective effort of GU’s faculties and administration.
The closing event featured an inspiring talk by media professional and writer Nevin Ragab on “Humanities and Human Relations”, as well as the “Raise Your Child Right” initiative by Prof. Dr. Randa Eldeeb, which offered parents valuable advice on nurturing and supporting their children. The day ended with an awards ceremony, where the achievements of the children — and the efforts of GU’s faculty and staff — were warmly recognized.
The Children’s University Program is more than a series of workshops; it’s a platform for building confidence, sparking ideas, and preparing the leaders of tomorrow. It also reflects Galala University’s deep commitment to community engagement, educational excellence, and innovation — values that align strongly with the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
Quality Education (SDG 4): Offering hands-on, meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9): Encouraging critical thinking and creativity in fields like engineering and computer science.
Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17): Strengthening impact through collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
At Galala University, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. The Children’s University Program is proof that when we invest in young people’s curiosity, we nurture future scientists, innovators, and community leaders — and the future shines a little brighter.
