Faculty of Physical Therapy Hosts an Inspiring Scientific Day on Sports Injuries

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at Galala University organized a remarkable scientific day titled “Sports Injuries and the Role of Physiotherapy in Their Prevention”. The event brought together specialists, academics, and students to explore modern approaches to preventing and treating sports-related injuries, emphasizing the essential role physiotherapists play in maintaining athletes performance and wellbeing.
The scientific sessions featured three distinguished speakers from both national and international backgrounds:
* Dr. Ibrahim Anba, Physiotherapy Consultant for the Egyptian National Football Team, Sports Injury Lecturer at Primephysio UK, and Medical Director at Insist Physiotherapy. Dr. Anba discussed advanced rehabilitation strategies and prevention protocols for common football injuries, highlighting the integration of evidence-based practice in athletic recovery.
* Dr. Raneem El-Kady, Former Physiotherapist for the Egyptian Women’s National Team and Assistant Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, UK. Dr. El-Kady shared her expertise on the biomechanics of movement and the importance of early intervention in minimizing long-term injury risks, especially among female athletes.
* Dr. Yasa Ashraf, Physiotherapist for the Egyptian Table Tennis National Team and Performance Analyst in Italy. Dr. Ashraf presented insights on performance analytics and the use of technology to monitor players physical load, helping coaches and therapists design individualized recovery programs.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in interactive discussions and practical demonstrations that reflected the Faculty’s commitment to bridging academic knowledge with real-world sports medicine applications. The event underscored Galala University’s dedication to providing hands-on learning experiences that align with international standards in physiotherapy education.
