Medical laboratory - Clinical Immunology

This course introduces immunology, covering the components of the immune system and methods for evaluating its function. Basic immunological techniques such as ELISA, turbidimetry, nephelometry, and phagocytosis will be explored.

 

Day-1 

  • 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Introduction What is meant by immunology, Different components of the immune system.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Is it necessary to evaluate the function of the immune system? How to evaluate the function of the Immune system?
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Break
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Hands-on- some basic techniques in immunology Rapid tests; agglutination, precipitation

Day-2 

  • 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Calibration and data interpretation methods: ELISA
  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Advanced Topics: Phagocytosis; phagocytic and lytic index
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Break
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Application-data analysis and interpretation of turbidimetry and Nephelometry
