Biography

With a PhD degree from the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH-Zürich) in 1991-1993, Professor Surour For more than 30 years has been involved in teaching, research and consultation duties in various universities such as Cairo University and The King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, including supervision of postgraduate students and research duties at excellence centers. Research and technical expertise is broadening to include joint research projects that led to publication in International peer-reviewed journals with impact factors, in collaboration with International scholars; e.g. from the ETH-Zürich, Copenhagen University, Oslo University of Stockholm, University of Genova, Kanazawa University and King Abdulaziz University. He is an author of a textbook and 4 chapters in a recent book series by Springer.

Professor Surour was awarded the State Prize, also he won the Encouraging Award in Geology and prize for best research articles 10 times from the Egyptian Geological and Mineralogical Societies. He got his Ph.d in Mineralogy and Ore Geology from Cairo University, followed by PhD students in Switzerland (1991-1993) and Post-doc fellow in Switzerland and Denmark.
