Biography

Dr. Amira’s career in the field of communication and media education is marked by her significant contributions to curriculum development, teaching, and research.

Currently serving as the director of the Television Production Program at Galala University, Dr. Amira brings a wealth of experience to her role. Prior to her current position, she held the prestigious position of Vice Dean & Head of the Broadcasting department in the School of Mass Communication at Canadian International College from 2018 to 2023. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the department and overseeing its operations.

Throughout her career, Dr. Amira has taught a variety of courses in communication, including Introduction to Communication, Media Research, News, Public Opinion, and Media Translation. Her expertise in these areas is underscored by her research interests in Political Communication and Public Opinion Research, areas in which she has made significant contributions to scholarship.

Dr. Amira’s commitment to excellence in education is further evidenced by her role as a broadcasting program quality coordinator from 2018 to 2023. In this capacity, she was responsible for ensuring the quality of the program through various initiatives, including examination systems, effective teaching strategies, program and course descriptions, strategic planning, self-evaluation, and external review.

Her dedication to professional development is reflected in her participation in numerous quality courses offered by NAQAAE (National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education). These courses covered a range of topics essential for ensuring high standards in education, including examination systems, effective teaching strategies, program and course descriptions, strategic planning, self-evaluation, and external review.

Overall, Dr. Amira’s extensive experience, leadership skills, and commitment to excellence make her a valuable asset to any academic institution. Her contributions to curriculum development, teaching, and research have had a significant impact on the field of communication and media education, and her dedication to quality assurance ensures that students receive a top-notch education.

  • Holds the degree of Associated professor in Broadcasting major.
  • PhD – Faculty of Mass communication, Cairo University 2005.
  • MA (Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University 2001).
  • Bachelor of mass communication-Broadcasting dept. (Radio & T.V) Cairo University 1994 (very good with honor).
