Supercapacitors: theories and application

This workshop delves into the essentials of supercapacitors, offering a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on application. Spanning two days, each day features a two-hour lecture covering the fundamentals of supercapacitors and highlighting their advantages over traditional batteries. The lab sessions, totaling 8 hours, provide a practical demonstration of supercapacitor electrode fabrication, the design of two and three-electrode systems, utilization of electrochemical techniques (CV, CP, EIS), data analysis, and capacitance calculations.

Day-1

  • 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Fundamentals of Supercapacitors
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Break
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Lab: Fabrication of supercapacitors electrodes and introduction to electrochemical techniques.

Day-2

  • 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Electrochemical techniques (CV, CP, EIS and equivalent circuit fitting, and stability)
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Break
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Design of two and three electrodes’ systems – Data analysis and capacitance calculations
