GU Organizes a successful Medical Convoy to Al-Aqwaz Health Unit

March 7, 2024

In its commitment to community service and making a lasting impact on society, GU collaborated with the Ministry of Planning and the “Decent Life” program and organized a highly successful medical convoy to the health unit in Al-Aqwaz, Giza Governorate. This initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities and improve the well-being of local residents.

Over 40 representatives from GU, including professors, doctors, and students from various medical disciplines from the faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Applied Health Sciences and Media, joined forces to contribute their expertise and support to the initiative. The convoy team conducted a wide range of medical services, including tests, x-rays, and awareness sessions, benefiting approximately 1,200 individuals in the Al-Aqwaz community.

This collaborative effort exemplifies GU’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact since its inauguration. By organizing such medical convoys and reaching out to underserved areas, GU strives to bridge the healthcare gap and improve the quality of life for individuals and families in need.

The medical convoy was made possible through the sponsorship of three esteemed pharmaceutical companies: Pharco Pharmaceutical, Utopia, and EIPICO. GU extends its heartfelt gratitude to these companies for their unwavering support and dedication to the cause. Their sponsorship played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the convoy and enabling the delivery of vital healthcare services to those in need.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the iMed-Healthineers company for their invaluable contribution to the convoy. Their support included sending radiology devices and skilled technologists who provided assistance to Galala students in conducting a wide range of X-rays on patients.

GU remains dedicated to its mission of community service and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Ministry of Planning, the “Decent Life” program, and its valued sponsors in future endeavors. Together, we can create a healthier and more equitable society for all.
