Galala University proudly announces a significant academic achievement as two of its faculty members have been awarded the 2024 State Encouragement Award, one of Egypt’s most prestigious honors in the field of scientific research. This national recognition underscores their exceptional contributions to advancing science and medicine and highlights the university’s growing impact on the research landscape in Egypt and beyond.
The announcement was made during the 182nd session of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), which was held on July 23, 2025. The session was chaired by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Academy’s Council. The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of scientists, experts, and council members, and concluded with the announcement of the recipients of the Nile, Appreciation, Excellence, and Encouragement Awards in both the sciences and advanced technological fields.
Among the winners from Galala University were Dr. Ahmed El-Khawaga, Assistant Lecturer at the Health Sector, who was awarded the State Encouragement Award in Biological Sciences, and Dr. Ali Mohamed Nasr, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, who received the award in the field of Medical Sciences. Dr. El-Khawaga has been recognized for his outstanding research contributions to biological sciences, particularly in areas that impact human health and disease. Dr. Nasr’s award reflects his innovative work in pharmaceutics and drug delivery systems, which continues to offer meaningful advancements in medical research and pharmaceutical development.
In response to this recognition, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, expressed his pride in the accomplishments of both faculty members.
