Galala University Participates in 4th Annual International Public Health Conference and Hosts Workshop on Climate Change and Human Health

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Abd El Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, GU Acting President, participated in the opening of the 4th Annual International Public Health Conference. The conference is organized by Ain Shams University in collaboration with Galala University’s Field of Nursing, the African Institute of Public Health Professionals (AlPHP), and the Association of African Universities of North African Countries.

The conference brings together international and regional experts to discuss critical topics in public health, including equitable access to high-quality healthcare services, innovative strategies for health sector sustainability, and the latest research and policy developments in the field. By collaborating with leading institutions, Galala University demonstrates its commitment to advancing public health education, research, and practice in Egypt and across Africa.

As part of the conference, GU hosted a post-conference workshop titled “Climate Change and Human Health”. This interactive session explored the impact of climate change on human health, including the increasing prevalence of climate-sensitive diseases, environmental hazards, and the need for adaptive health strategies. Participants discussed sustainable approaches to healthcare investment, prevention strategies, and community-based interventions to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on populations.

Through its participation and hosting of workshops, Galala University continues to bridge academic research, practical health solutions, and community engagement, preparing its students and faculty to address emerging health challenges both locally and globally. This event reflects GU’s vision of fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and proactive responses to global public health issues.
