Program Overview

The FinTech program is an interdisciplinary program offered by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at Galala University. It integrates multiple specializations, including finance, economics, business administration, information systems, and computer science. The program aims to equip graduates with the skills to utilize information technology tools and AI applications in financial and banking operations, as well as to manage financial and technological risks in an evolving business environment. This program aligns with Galala University’s vision of being a smart, fourth-generation university.

What is FinTech?

FinTech refers to the use of technology to enhance or automate financial services. The financial and banking sectors have undergone rapid transformations due to significant technological advancements, leading to the emergence of new tools and systems. These include digital and cryptocurrencies, crowdfunding platforms, and electronic payment systems. Technological progress in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity has driven radical changes in banking and financial institutions—often termed “technological disruptions.” This evolution necessitates new business models, innovative financial tools, and systems that address the emerging risks associated with technology in the financial sector.

More importantly, they need to ensure it’s all completed on time and within budget.Thanks to internet retailing's continued growth; there's an increasing need for logistics and supply chain graduates. This program provides an interesting and challenging route for graduates.

University Requirement /Elective courses: 20 Credit Hours.

Core courses: 105 CHS 
General Field: 30 CHS 
General Specialty: 75 CHS

Total: 125 Credit Hours.
