Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7):
SDG 7 aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. It promotes the use of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and innovations in energy technology to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change.
Galala University is committed to supporting SDG 7 through multiple initiatives, including the development of the Galala Green Campus, which promotes sustainable energy practices and efficient resource management. The university also conducts Post-Occupancy Evaluations (POE) and Accessibility Assessments to ensure sustainable energy solutions are integrated into campus infrastructure.
Additionally, Galala University engages in research and partnerships, such as the UK–Egypt Higher Education Climate Change Partnerships, which focus on climate action and energy solutions. The university also participates in projects like the Flood Hazard Assessment in Ain Sokhna and studies the Impact of Urbanization on Regional Microbial Ecology in Galala City, ensuring a sustainable urban and environmental approach.
Key cultural projects such as the Digital Archive for Hassan Fathy and the development of the Suez Public Library reflect the university’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage while promoting sustainable energy use. These initiatives align with the broader goals of SDG 7 in advancing clean energy and sustainability in Egypt. ( Download: SDGs 7 )
