Galala University Welcomes Arizona State University Delegation to Strengthen Dual Degree Partnership

Galala University (GU) was honored to welcome a distinguished delegation from Arizona State University (ASU) on a three-day visit aimed at reviewing the progress of the GU–ASU dual degree programs, launched last year as part of the university’s strategic vision to provide world-class education aligned with global standards.

The visit underscored the depth of collaboration between both institutions and their shared commitment to enhancing academic excellence and expanding educational opportunities for students. Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, GU President, warmly received the delegation and held extensive discussions with the ASU representatives about the achievements realized during the first year of the partnership and the future roadmap for sustaining its success.

During the meetings, both sides discussed mutual academic objectives, focusing on quality assurance, curriculum integration, and continuous improvement of teaching methodologies. Dr. El Shinawi highlighted the importance of this collaboration in transforming higher education in Egypt and the region, emphasizing that it opens new horizons for GU students by providing them with an American-accredited education experience without the need to travel abroad.

The ASU delegation, which included professors and academic coordinators, attended classes with GU students and engaged in productive discussions with Deans, Program Directors, and faculty members. They expressed their admiration for the university’s progress in implementing innovative teaching methods and for the students’ enthusiasm and performance in the dual degree programs.

The guests also toured several key facilities across the GU campus, including state-of-the-art laboratories, advanced classrooms, the student dormitories, and activity centers. They were particularly impressed by the campus’s modern infrastructure, which is designed to support experiential learning, research, and student wellbeing.

This visit also served as a platform to discuss the introduction of new dual degree programs that will be launched in the 2023–2024 academic year, adding to the already successful five programs currently running in partnership with ASU. These new additions will further expand the academic pathways available to GU students and strengthen the university’s mission to nurture globally competitive graduates equipped with 21st-century skills.

Both institutions reaffirmed their shared vision of advancing academic collaboration, research innovation, and student mobility. The GU–ASU partnership continues to be a landmark model for international education in Egypt, reflecting the spirit of innovation, excellence, and global engagement that defines Galala University.
